The A-Beez

Soul • Funk • R&B • Hip-Hop • Jazz | Live at Wally’s Cafe Jazz Club

The A-Beez are a Boston-based powerhouse collective known for their fearless blend of soul, funk, R&B, hip-hop, and jazz. Led by keyboardist Amy Bellamy and bassist Aaron Bellamy—creative and life partners—the group delivers high-energy performances rooted in deep-pocket grooves, raw lyrical honesty, and a distinctly live, unpolished feel.

Formed through collaboration beginning in 2003 as members of the Sam Kininger Band, The A-Beez have become a cornerstone of the Boston music scene. They have held a long-standing residency at the legendary Wally’s Cafe Jazz Club for over 16 years, making them one of the venue’s most enduring and beloved acts.

Onstage, The A-Beez expand into a rotating ensemble of elite musicians and vocalists, often featuring standout performers like Melissa Bolling and Nephrok!, along with guest artists connected to groups such as Snarky Puppy and The Nth Power. Their sound is grounded in funk and soul but freely pulls from rock, country, jazz, and even classical influences—always prioritizing feel, connection, and authenticity over studio polish.

The group’s recorded work includes three acclaimed studio albums—Never Going Back (2015), Say Goodbye (2018), and Reclamation (2021)—and their live shows channel that same spirit: spontaneous, groove-driven, and deeply human. A night with The A-Beez at Wally’s is a celebration of community, rhythm, and the raw power of live music.
